Boot without the Logo Displaying

On most systems, there are two Logo Screens that Come up: 

1) The first Logo (usually the Manufacturers Logo) screen appears immediately, before Windows has begun to load. To disable it: 

During boot, as soon as you see the Logo, press "Del" to go into Setup.  There are 3 ways to get rid of it, depending on the system:

  1. enable the "Boot Time Diagnostic Screen" 
  2. press "Esc" during bootup to shrink the size of the Logo and it moves to the right so you can see the screen text 
  3. some systems have a setup option called "Quiet Boot". Enable it to to shrink the size of the Logo and it moves to the right so you can see the screen text 

2) The "Windows" Logo screen appears as Windows is loading - to get rid of:

Control Panel/TweakUI 

Click the Boot tab 

uncheck "Display splash screen while booting". 

OR 

  1. Right-click on C:\MSDOS.SYS
  2. Uncheck the Read-Only attribute
  3. Open the file in NotePad (making sure to click Edit and uncheck the WordWrap.) 
  4. Add the following line (or edit the existing line.) Stay out of that reserved section, though:
  5. Logo=0 4
  6. Save and Exit, then reset the Read-Only attribute.
