Show Desktop Icon in the Quick-Launch Toolbar is Missing

 

The icon is a shortcut to a text file called desktop.scf  and is a great feature !!  When you click it, all windows immediately minimize to the toolbar - and when you click it again they all return to the same space where they were previously.

You can easily recreate the file.  If the file exists, the shortcut automatically appears in the Quick-Launch toolbar.  This fix applies to all versions of Windows


1)  Copy and paste the five lines below into Notepad.

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

2)  Then save it as Show Desktop.scf and drag it to your quick launch bar.
