Status Bar keeps Vanishing - the Fix
The "status bar" is a small area on the bottom of a Window, such as IE or
Explorer - where information about a folder or a drive appears. Many users
complain that the status bar vanishes after they enable it. Here's a way to make that status bar stay put and appear in all folders:
-
Right click on the Start menu and click the Explore command.
-
In the Windows Explorer, click the View menu and then click the Status Bar command.
-
Click the Tools menu and then click the Folder Options command.
-
In the Folder Options dialog box, click on the View tab.
- Click on the Apply to All Folders button
- Click Yes in the dialog box that informs you that the changes will occur the next time you open other folders.
-
Click OK in the Folder Options dialog box.
-
Open the My Documents folder. Notice the status bar? It'll be in all your folders now.
NOTE: I have personally had mixed results with this fix - it
does not always work !!
