XP Disk Partitioning

XP comes with its own, extremely user unfriendly disk partition utility, "diskpart.exe"

Don't use It for FAT32

It limits all FAT32 partitions to 32 MB !!  It is also so tricky to use that you are in danger of deleting one of your existing partitions if not careful.  So, unless you have a need for some of the enhanced features that DiskPart offers, don't use it.  Instead:

• boot with a Win98 disk, and run fdisk
• use the disk manager utility that came with your hard drive (they all have format and partition functions)
• use a 3rd part utility such as Partition Magic.

If you must - here we go . . . DiskPart

1. Start/Run . . . cmd
2. type in:   diskpart
3. enter the commands
